So, the other day I was talking to a friend who ordered the 21 Day Fix from me a while back. I was checking in with her to see how she was doing and asked if she was still doing it. She had recently had surgery, but said she was almost ready to do another round. It got me thinking. The 21 Day Fix is an amazing program... but the best part of it is you buy it once, and you have it for life!

Think about other weight loss programs... you know, the ones where you count points, or buy their prepackaged foods. Those programs have a monthly fee that you have to pay in order to stay on the program. The 21 Day Fix is a one and done! You purchase the program, and you don't have to spend another cent on it as long as you live!

Yes, you can buy Shakeology, which I highly recommend, and you can subscribe to Beachbody On Demand, which I also recommend, but you don't HAVE to! With other programs, if you stop paying for it, it's gone. You no longer have access to it. With the 21 Day Fix, you have access forever!

Plus, it's SIMPLE and it WORKS! So, you might not be familiar with the 21 Day Fix. Here's a breakdown:

  • What is the 21 Day Fix?
    • A 21-day program of simple portion control and 30 minute workouts that anyone can do.
    • Simple, fast weight loss -- no weighing food, or counting calories or points
    • You can lose up to 15 pounds in 21 days!
  • What makes the 21 Day Fix unique?
    • Portion-control containers take all the guesswork out of losing weight
    • It's the simplest way to control how much you eat
    • 30 minute workouts fit into everyone's busy life
  • What's included in the 21 Day Fix?
    • 7 color-coded portion control containers
    • Shakeology shaker cup
    • 6 easy-to-follow 3 minute workouts
    • 21 Day Fix quick start guide and workout calendar
    • 21 Day Fix eating plan that shows you exactly what to do
    • 3 Day Quick Fix Guide
    • Dirty 30 bonus workout
    • Free bonus workout when you order from me: Plyo Fix
  • How does it work?
    • The eating plan shows you how to use the portion control containers
    • Simply put your choice of food in the color-coded container - if it fits, you can eat it!
    • Do one 30 minute workout per day according to the fitness guide
This is NOT a diet!! It truly is a way of life... you are learning proper portion control! If you decide to do a different workout program down the road, you can continue to use your portion containers for food! Keeping it simple!

Here are some examples of results that can be attained by following the program:

Can't really argue with that! :) Ok, so if you want to learn more, watch this video!!
Have a great day!! :)

Why the 21 Day Fix is LIFE!

Saturday, January 16, 2016

In my last post, I talked about buying new art supplies, so I have been sketching! I finally got all my Copic orders! I'm pretty excited to be back to doing art! I did an art haul on my YouTube channel. You can see it here.

Today, I made labels for my Copic Ciao's since they don't have color numbers on the caps like the Sketch markers do. I found the labels at this blog! Instead of using a hole punch and mini glue dots, I printed the pdf on sticker paper and cut the circles with my Cricut. It's not perfect, but it was easier and I am lazy, so this works for me! ;)

And here is my current Copic collection! (I ended up with 2 duplicates in my orders, woops!!) I have something like 94 Copics now! I'm super excited, but I also can't wait for my collection to be complete! :)

Here are my current drawing tools. I also have several graphite pencils, but I just don't use them, because I don't like all the smudging. I really like this Graph Gear 1000 mechanical pencil!

Here are some of my sketches. I feel like I am progressing pretty well with my drawing! :)

As for working out, I have been working out just about every day!! I am loving the Challenge Du Jour! It's just what I needed!! When we get our home gym set up, we are starting The Master's Hammer & Chisel! I cannot wait!!

Oh, and I got new glasses and I no longer have blue hair!!

I hope you all have a wonderful week!! (You know, all probably 2 people who are reading my blog lol) :)

I've been drawing...

Saturday, January 2, 2016

UGH! I am NOT ready to go back to work on Wednesday. And it's only Saturday night and I am already fretting about it. I have LOVED being home! I love getting a paycheck too, though... but I really love being home! Who wants to pay me to stay home and just do whatever the hell I want!? lol

I had 2 things I wanted to get done over Christmas break; 1. clean the office and 2. read You Are a Badass. I have accomplished one... the office is done!! I am super excited about that! And I say "done" as a relative term. We still have a few things to go through and I plan to purchase another shelf to put in there because we still need more storage, but it looks so much better than it did, and I actually have room on my desk to draw! See?? :) (And yes, that is Sean McCabe on my screen! Binge-watching Seanwes-TV while cleaning the office!)

I have started to go through things to get rid of, so I decided to get rid of ALL of my acrylic and rubber stamps. I rarely used them, and most of them are brand new. I wanted to get more Copic markers, colored pencils, other art supplies, so I started selling them. So far I have purchased a 72 pencil set of Prismacolor Premier colored pencils, ordered 27 Copic Ciao markers (I have some Sketch markers, but the Ciao's fit into my budget better) and once I get paid for a couple more things I sold I am putting in an order for 40 more Ciao markers!! So excited!! I also plan to order this Copic class for coloring skin and hair: http://kitandclowder.ning.com/groups/skin-and-hair-class as soon as I sell some more stuff!! I think it looks great, and will really give me some direction. I need to figure out why I can't make myself draw... it's like I am terrified to try. I have everything I need... I just can't seem to make myself put pencil to paper. WTF?

On Monday, I start back on the Challenge Du Jour with Beachbody and I am really glad to get back into working out! I also started a new challenge at Nerd Fitness: http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/76057-scoutsays-challenge13/

Ok, off to do something... not sure what, but it really should be drawing lol or reading...

What I'm reading: You Are a Badass
What I'm Watching: YouTube Copic videos
What I'm listening to: Seanwes TV

Happy New Year!

Sunday, December 27, 2015

Oh boy, 2015... What can I say about this year? It was really a great year. Got to travel to Florida and to Sturgis. Got out of our tiny little cracker box apartment into a house we absolutely love! Got a new car to replace my shitty little LHS that died on us. Everyone is relatively healthy.

I always make New Years resolutions and I always seem to fail myself. I do have some areas I need to improve on, but I'm not calling them resolutions this year. These are GOALS!! These are things I HAVE to do this year in order to keep my sanity and better myself, because if we aren't bettering ourselves day to day, year to year, what's the damn point of it all?

2016 GOALS:

1. Get fit: oh boy, this is the same every year, and I start off pretty well and then fall off the wagon. I have somewhere between 70 and 80 lbs to lose in order to be at a healthy weight. However, I don't want to just lose weight. I want to be super fit with muscles and stuff ;)

How to get there:
- clean eating: duh!! Stop putting crap in my body!! Back to the 21 Day Fix!!

- 10,000 steps a day: there is no reason I can't do this, and I have a fancy FitBit, I need to use it to the max!

- lift: get back to my Beachbody programs!! I'm a coach, I need to be walking the walk! I'll be doing the Challenge Du Jour (challenge of the day). If you'd like to join me, you can get a free month here:

2. Replace my income: since they got rid of level pay at my job, I no longer get a paycheck over the summer, so I HAVE to replace my income. This means either getting a new full time job, getting a summer job or really hustling my side hustles!

How to get there:

- HUSTLE!! Power Hour every day!

- Get a following: post more on social media and step WAY out of my comfort zone and start posting videos!

- Be a product of the product: drink Shakeology, work out daily!

- Read self development books, listen to podcasts, etc.

- Finally finish putting my office together.

3. Develop a body of art: I really want to get back into art. I have this huge desire to learn to both draw and hand letter. So much so that it is becoming a bit of an obsession.

How to get there:

- Deliberate practice: every damn day!! I will practice the following every day:
   * hand lettering/brushlettering
   * drawing
   * Copic coloring

- Photography: it's been 3 years since I've consistently picked up my camera.  I'd like to start doing some personal photo shoots for the sole purpose of getting reference photos for drawing.

4. Be happy! I'm actually really happy right now! I want to stay that way.

How to get there:

- Bible study: I've been saying every year that I'm going to read the entire bible... I've yet to do it. This is going to be my year!

- Meditation: basically I just need to find a way to destress, so I think this might work. Even if it's only 5-10 minutes a day.

- Put systems in place to make life easier: I already have an established morning routine, but I feel like I need a bedtime routine, because that might help me sleep better.

- On that note, sleep better!!: I only get about 4 hours of sleep a night. I need more than that to function. I'll try to get to bed earlier after an established bedtime routine.

- Journal: write things down. I have this blog that I neglect horribly! I need to blog at least once a week!!

I think that's plenty of goals for right now!

I do have a list of rewards for my weight loss goal that I'll add here. I feel like it's important to reward yourself for a job well done. I'm also going to start paying myself $1 for every day I hit 10,000 steps. I'm motivated by money, because there are a lot of art supplies I want to purchase!! Some of these rewards might change if I decide to buy them before I hit my goal lol

Goals and Rewards:

Goal 1: -30 lbs: 190 or waist size 35" - Copic skin pack
Goal 2: -40 lbs: 180 or Waist size 34" - Copic Sketch gray pack
Goal 3: waist size 33" - Light board
Goal 4: -50 lbs: 170 or Waist size 32" - New pair of cross trainers
Goal 5: Waist size 31" - IKEA desk chair
Goal 6: -60 lbs: 160 or Waist size 30" - Blackwing Subscription
Goal 7: -70 lbs: 150 or Waist size 29" - Anchor tattoo and wrist quotes
Goal 8: -80 lbs: 140 or Waist size 28" - Lionheart tattoo
Goal 9: -90 lbs: 130 or Waist size 27" - New wardrobe - shopping spree!!

Well, that's it. I think I'll start ending my posts with these 3 things:

- What I'm reading: You are a Badass

- What I'm watching: (other than YouTube videos?? Lol) Into the Badlands

- What I'm listening to: Tech 9!

Have a very happy new year!! 2016's gonna be our year!! :)

I Resolve... To not Resolve...

Tuesday, December 8, 2015

I haven't updated my blog in a very long time. I had a very busy summer. I went on a road trip from Kansas City to Orlando, FL with our youth group. I rode from Kansas City to Sturgis, SD with my husband this summer on the Harley. I had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed my summer vacation. I actually complete a Couch to 5K with one of my best friends this summer.

Then I went back to work. We moved from our tiny little 500 square foot apartment to a 4 bedroom house! We bought a car. We aren't finished unpacking yet. And I have no idea what I am doing with my life. I feel like a failure almost every day. I have an awesome family! I have a big, beautiful house! I have a nice, new car! I just don't know what I am doing. I have so many things I want to do and I don't know how to accomplish any of them. Plus I have way too many irons in the fire.

All the stuff that I have going on:

  1. I work full time (except summers) as a special ed paraprofessional.
  2. I have a Thirty-One Gifts business.
  3. I am a Beachbody Coach.
  4. I have the tiniest of tiny Etsy shops.
  5. I want to learn handlettering.
  6. I want to learn brushlettering.
  7. I want to get healthy and into shape.
So, let's take each one and tear it apart, why don't we?

1. I love my job! I love my coworkers and my kids. There are 3 problems though: I don't make enough money, I am not using my degree (I have an MBA in Marketing and HR) and they took away our level pay, so I am going to have to get a job this summer to be able to pay our bills.

2. I would love to make my 31 business work, but I feel like I am going in a million directions, and I am trying to figure out how to get people to actually have parties. I am going to start doing wine-tasting parties after the new year, so we will see what happens with that!

3. Again, I feel overwhelmed with this. I don't know how to succeed at this. So, I have decided to just get back to working on ME and then maybe others will see me succeed and will want my help with their health and fitness. I feel like I have to get my body under control before I can really help others.

4. I have been working on some new ideas for my Etsy shop, including stickers and vinyl products, but my Cricut is being a total pain in the ass so I have to figure that out before I can really commit to selling things that I make with it. I mean, if I get some orders and then the software screws up, I won't be able to fulfill those orders and that would be really bad.

5. I am working on this. I am in the middle of Sean McCabe's Learn Lettering Starter Class. I hope to be able to make some money and purchase his Master Course, because that is where all of the business stuff is!

6. I am also working on this. Tomorrow is my birthday, and my husband got me a brush lettering course I really wanted so I am super excited to get started on that!!

7. UGH. I feel like I know what I need to do to get into shape, but I am refusing to let myself do it. I eat too much and all the wrong foods. I am not keeping up with water or working out. I am exhausted all the time, and I am hungry all the time. I just want to come home and eat and veg, when I really need to workout every day. I don't know what I am doing. I am sabotaging myself! I need to figure it out.

I need to decide what success looks like to me. I need to decide what I want my life to look like. I can envision myself doing lettering as a career, staying home in my cute little office creating things every day. Making a living with art. But also having a thriving Beachbody business, with a fit body and a huge following so I can help a ton of people get fit and healthy!

What do I need to do to get there? Lots of practice, working out, eating right, starting a YouTube channel, Periscope, Instagram, blog, etc. etc. etc. I need to get myself out there, outside of my comfort zone.

Tomorrow is my birthday. I will be 42. It's time to get serious.

I Have No Idea What I Am Doing!

Can I Be a Runner? This is a question I have asked myself several times over the years. I have wanted to be a runner for a very long time. But I'm overweight. But I have never really run before (I'm not counting high school gym class!). But I have a heart condition. But I run out of breath really easily. But my ankles hurt. These are excuses... yes, you CAN be a runner. Just RUN!

I have started the C25K (Couch to 5K) program about half a dozen times in the past. I had NEVER gotten past week 1. Week 1 is the easiest week. In week 1, you alternate 60 seconds of jogging with 90 seconds of walking for 30 minutes. I have started that week about 6 times... not because I couldn't jog 60 seconds... I physically could. I just had a mental barrier telling me I couldn't do it. I always had some stupid reason to give up. I am currently on week 7! WEEK 7!!!! Week 7 is a 25 minute run 3 days during the week! I can run 25 minutes in a row without stopping now! Can you believe that!?

How did I go from not being able to complete week 1 to actually getting to week 7? Part of it is having a friend to run with. I have a friend who I work with who was willing to come along on this journey with me. She is already a runner, but she has been very patiently going through the C25K program with me. We keep each other accountable. Even when I went to Florida for a week, I still did my 3 days of running, with another friend who was in Florida with me. It's just so much easier when you have someone training with you!

Also, I got past my mental block. I just keep telling myself "you can do this!" and "Just effing do it!!"

Here is how the program is laid out for anyone who is interested, the link above is to the actual app, which is free and tells you exactly what to do!

(each day begins with a 5 minute walking warmup and a 5 minute walking cooldown)

Week 1: 60 sec of jogging, 90 sec of walking for 30 minutes
Week 2: 90 sec of jogging, 2 minutes of walking for 31 minutes
Week 3: jog for 90 sec, walk for 90 sec, jog for 3 minutes, walk for 3 minutes, repeat
Week 4: jog 3 min, walk 90 sec, jog 5 min, walk 2.5 min, jog 3 min, walk 90 sec, jog 5 min
Week 5 Day 1: jog 5 min, walk 3 min, jog, 5 min, walk 3 min, jog 5 min
Week 5 Day 2: jog 8 min, walk 5 min, jog 8 min
Week 5 day 3: jog 20 minutes with no walking!! (This is where shit gets real!)
Week 6 Day 1: jog 5 min, walk 3 min, jog 8 min, walk 3 min, jog 5 min
Week 6 Day 2: jog 10 min, walk 3 min, jog 10 min
Week 6 Day 3: jog 22 minutes with no walking
Week 7: jog 25 minutes with no walking each day
Week 8 Day 1&2: jog 28 minutes with no walking
Week 8 Day 3: jog 30 minutes with no walking

And that's it! I am on week 7, day 1. I still feel like I run slower than I walk, but I am running.
After we finish C25K, we are going on to the 10K training, because why not!? I have a heart condition (inappropriate atrial tachycardia) where my heart beats too fast sometimes. I'm on meds for it, and I haven't really asked my doctor if I should be running. I wear my FitBit Surge every time I run and I keep track of my heart rate as I go. I'm careful. And running makes me feel better, both physically and mentally. And it's helping me on my weight loss journey. Having said that, please check with your doctor before starting any fitness program, blah blah blah! :)

BeachBody on Demand - FREE for 30 Days!!

Saturday, February 28, 2015

So, while going through my email, I happened upon a review for a subscription box I had never heard of called Scentbird. Scentbird is a monthly fragrance collection! I love perfume, but I just haven't been able to force myself to spend a bunch of money one an expensive bottle of perfume, mostly because I love to use all different scents depending on what I am doing and my mood of the day! Scentbird is PERFECT for me!!

For $14.95 a month, you will receive an 8ml purse spray filled with the perfume of your choice. It’s about the size of a rollerball, this is enough perfume to apply twice daily for 30 days. On the first month, you will get a sleek perfume case, FREE!

So, you take a little quiz, which is basically picking between photos of places and things, and then they recommend some fragrances for you. You can then start adding fragrances to your queue. You have the option of searching their site for other fragrances as well, which is what I chose to do! I have the following fragrances in my queue and can't wait to start getting them (granted, if I decide to change my mind, and believe me, I am FICKLE, I can change my queue at anytime):

February 2015: Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy
Main Notes: Caramel, Vanilla, Praline, Mandarin Orange, Honeysuckle

March 2015: Prada Candy
Main Notes: Caramel, Benzoin, Musk

April 2015: Cristobal Balenciaga Florabotanica
Main Notes: Rose, Mint, Carnation, Vetiver, Amber

May 2015: Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb EDT
Main Notes: Patchouli, Orchid, Black Tea, Musk, Rose

June 2015: Marc Jacobs Honey
Main Notes: Punch, Pear, Honeysuckle, Orange Blossom, Mandarin Orange

July 2015: Versace Bright Crystal
Main Notes: Yuzu, Pomegranate, Peony, Magnolia, Lotus

August 2015: Gucci Guilty
Main Notes: Lilac, Peach, Pink Pepper, Patchouli, Amber

September 2015: Anna Sui Rock Me!
Main Notes: Peach, Orange, Vanilla, Jasmine, Pear

October 2015: Anna Sui La Vie De Boheme
Main Notes: Red Berries, Pear, Rose, Raspberry, Musk

November 2015: Givenchy Dahlia Noir
Main Notes: Iris, Rose, Pink Pepper, Patchouli, Sandalwood

December 2015: Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme Intense
Main Notes: Marshmallow, Orange Blossom, Tuberose, Sandalwood, Mandarin Orange

January 2015: Dior Miss Dior Le Parfum
Main Notes: Amber, Patchouli, Rose, Vanilla, Mandarin Orange

I am not sure why the months are like this... because my first shipment won't ship until March 15th, so I would think the first one should be labeled March, but it isn't. Oh well lol Can't wait to get it!! :)

Nerd Fitness - Challenge 9 - Carry On...

Tuesday, February 24, 2015

So, I became a BeachBody Coach last month, and started the 21 Day Fix! I am loving the program!! The eating plan with color-coded portion containers is so simple and I don't feel like I am being deprived at all! I have made it through my first round, which is, of course, 21 days long.

Here are my results from the first round!!

I can totally see a difference in the before and after pictures. And this just goes to show you that even if they scale isn't budging, you are still losing inches and building muscle!! I didn't lose ANY weight this round, but I lost 6 inches!! And look at the difference in my back fat! LOL

This is just my first round! This is only 3 WEEKS!! I started my second round yesterday and I am still loving it! I have challenge groups going all the time, so let me know if you are interested in getting healthy and finally getting fit!! :)
